What SonicText processes

When you use the service, it processes the audio or video you provide, the resulting transcript, your speaker-role choices, transcript corrections, highlights, annotations, and overall notes.

Why it is processed

This information is used only to transcribe the recording, provide the review workspace, save your edits temporarily, provide sharing that you enable, and create your requested export.

Not used for AI training

Your recordings, transcripts, annotations, highlights, and overall notes are not used to train AI models. Human access by SonicText or its service providers is limited to what is necessary to operate, secure, or troubleshoot the service, or to comply with legal obligations.

Access from your browser

Access to each recording and its review data is linked to an identifier stored in your browser. A recording can normally be reopened only from the same browser profile on the same device used to upload or create it. It will not be available from another device, browser, or browser profile unless the uploader creates a sharing link. Clearing your browser data may also prevent access to your recordings and private annotations. Anyone who can use the same browser profile may be able to access them.

Password-protected sharing

If an uploader enables sharing, anyone with both the unguessable link and its separate password can play the recording and read the transcript until sharing is revoked, the password is changed, or the recording expires. Shared viewers are not offered a recording download. Private Highlights, Private Annotations, and Private Overall Notes remain separate for each browser. Shared Annotations and Shared Overall Notes are visible and editable by everyone who has access to the shared review. Text added to shared notes is shown in a color associated with the contributing browser.

Service providers

AssemblyAI provides transcription. OpenAI-hosted Sites, Cloudflare infrastructure, and the configured media-processing service support hosting, temporary storage, and file handling.

Retention

Recordings, transcripts, sharing records, and review data are scheduled for automatic deletion seven days after creation. Temporary upload files are removed sooner after processing. Please download anything you need before it expires.

Usage metadata

To prevent abuse, SonicText stores a random browser identifier plus timestamps, feature type, processing duration, status, and estimated cost. It also temporarily records unsuccessful password attempts against a shared session and browser identifier. The admin dashboard does not display recording or transcript content. This demo does not intentionally use IP addresses to identify visitors.

Your responsibilities

Only upload, capture, or share a conversation when you have the permission required from everyone involved. Share links and passwords only with intended viewers. Avoid using this temporary demo for information that should not be processed by a public demonstration service.
